Mr. Scott Strachan has worked in the Middle East since 2002 and joined Unicorn’s Private Equity department in 2006. In 2009, he was promoted to Head of Portfolio Management. Mr. Strachan is responsible for managing the Bank’s private equity portfolio across the Middle East. He is Chairman of the Board of the Investment Committee of the Unicorn Global Private Equity Fund, and has also been involved in all the Bank’s major MENA investments, including Qatar Engineering & Construction Company WLL, Orimix Concrete Products LLC (UAE), and Al Tajamouat for Touristic projects plc (Jordan).
Prior to joining Unicorn, Mr Strachan worked as a consultant specialising in corporate finance and restructuring. He has 15 years experience with international accountancy firms, working on high-profile cases in a lead manager role. His experience includes due diligence, business plans, valuations and private placements. He also has wide experience in audit, investigating and restructuring under-performing businesses and trading businesses through a period of corporate insolvency.
Mr. Strachan is a UK-qualified Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (with distinction) from Glasgow Caledonian University.
